The situation surrounding a smoke staircase in an office building in Ansfelden was unclear on Thursday evening. But it soon became clear: there was actually a fire! Thanks to an employee, no more damage occurred. The rescue team had to treat an injured person.
According to the rescue control center in Linz, a person was taken to hospital with suspected smoke poisoning on Thursday evening. However, it was probably a non-threatening injury sustained by a helper who had taken initial countermeasures with a hand extinguisher before the fire brigade arrived.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., the Ansfelden fire brigade was alerted to the unclear fire and an employee of the affected company reportedly called in the helpers. When it became clear that there was a real fire, three more fire stations were immediately alerted. The fire in an office was quickly brought under control, but the affected building suffered heavy damage. After the fire was extinguished, police began and are still investigating the cause of the fire.
Next assignment in Hörsching
Shortly after the end of this operation, the following alarm was given to the fire brigade in the Linz-Land district around 8 p.m.: a garden shed in Hörsching was said to be on fire.
