About finitude – The clock is ticking: But do we want to live forever?

Date:

Comedian, author and expert on human nature Stefan Vogel answers questions that others don’t even dare to ask. This time he is committed to some people’s wish to live forever – or at least 500 years. Is that desirable?

The idea of eternal life is anathema to me. This has less to do with my lack of fear of death and more to do with the idea of living forever. Friends of mine look at this issue very differently. In any case, if you don’t use the term “forever” as a target for a desired age, I often hear the number 500 years – and sometimes this desire for an encore is even based on understandable reasons: they want to know how it will go If the latter will change the world in the future and what it will look like in half a millennium.
