Six kilos of drugs – cocaine through Carinthia: police attack in Rome

Date:

Drug investigators began the chase shortly after the border in Tarvisio, Italy, eventually seizing kilos of cocaine and hashish in Rome.

Italian investigators had been on the trail of an Albanian drug gang operating from Rome for weeks – and so they also knew that two drug couriers were on a “business trip” in Austria a few days ago. Thanks to the collaboration with the red-white-red colleagues and mobile phone surveillance, the investigators were able to follow the suspects up close and observe where they were – and how they moved.

And so the Italo detectives lay in wait in Tarvisio: the suspected smugglers had traveled from Vienna via the A2 through Carinthia and were on their way to the border – as the “Krone” learned from Italian investigative circles. After the suspects crossed the state border, the agents attached themselves to the smuggling vehicle – so they could be led unnoticed to the gang’s hideout.

More than 740 kilometers followed
And the criminals’ plan finally worked about 740 kilometers further south: investigators struck in front of a garage in Rome and seized a total of six kilos of packaged cocaine worth at least about 500,000 euros in the suspects’ vehicle (26 and 54 years old). in addition to 18,000 euros in cash in drug money and another four kilos of hashish hidden in the cavity of a fire door.
