Attack on police officers – crazy persecution: German could not be stopped

Date:

A traffic stop in Klagenfurt escalated completely. It is completely unclear why the driver acted so badly that he tried to run over police officers several times.

When a patrol from the Villach highway police wanted to stop a white van on Pischeldorfer Straße in Klagenfurt for reckless driving, the officers certainly did not know what measures the driver would take to escape the police. The driver of the van evaded the police for the time being, ignored stop signs several times and fled at increased speed and with a “particularly reckless driving style,” police said.

Lenker left a trail of destruction behind
When the driver reached a dead end on Mühlgasse because a steel mesh basket blocked the road, the officers asked the man to turn off the engine and open the vehicle. He also ignored these instructions. “Instead, he repeatedly pressed the accelerator and suddenly reversed the van, ramming the civilian highway police vehicle with full force, damaging it at the front,” said a police officer. But that’s not all: the four police officers had to jump out of the way to avoid being injured themselves.

After ramming the civilian vehicle, he put the car back into forward gear and accelerated. “He rammed the attached steel mesh basket, which was pushed aside by the force of the impact, and managed to escape across Mühlgasse in the direction of Grete-Bittner-Straße!” But that shouldn’t be the most dangerous situation in the world. during this unusual manhunt.

The police officer saved himself by jumping out of the way
Because when an Emergency Department officer tried to stop the van on a cycle path, he made no move to slow down! “Suddenly he drove towards the officer without braking!” is how a police officer describes the dangerous situation. The police officer could only save himself by jumping onto the meadow – the aggressive driver sped away along Feschnigstrasse towards the east. At this point the officers lost track.

The tide turned when the completely destroyed van was found by a police patrol on Karl-Friedrich-Gauß-Straße – but there was no trace of the driver. “During the course of the investigation, the alleged driver of the van was identified.” It concerns a 27-year-old German living in Klagenfurt. The man could be found at his address; he was arrested by the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG). Fortunately, a cinematic chase ended without injuries at 11:30 p.m. The German turned out to be moderately alcoholic…
