Chase – Stoned biker who goes 200 km/h without a helmet

Date:

Scenes that resembled a movie took place on the Tauernautobahn in Carinthia in the Spittal region on Monday evening. A civilian patrol chased a wild motorcyclist.

Around 9 p.m., a motorcycle with a passenger on the passenger suddenly overtook a civilian patrol from the Spittal/Drau motorway police near Mauthbrücken in the direction of Spittal at breakneck speed. “The vehicle had a Serbian license plate. The patrol immediately gave chase,” police said. “The driver raced to the Spittal-Ost exit at a speed of more than 200 km/h and continued on the B 100 towards Ferndorf almost without braking.”

“Driver fled over fence”
When he turned onto a community street, the patrol was able to park their car and block the street. “The motorcycle collided with the police vehicle. The passenger, a 26-year-old Romanian, was immediately arrested and the driver fled over a fence and a stream,” police said. “Only another police patrol could arrest him in an adjacent forest area.”

German had cannabis with him
The speeder, a 26-year-old German, did not have a helmet, but did carry cannabis; he had already consumed some of it, as clinical research later showed. “When questioned, the passenger stated that she was terrified because of the way she was driving and that she yelled at the driver several times to stop the engine so she could get out,” police said. “Due to the high speed, the driver lost the helmet he was previously wearing while driving.”

The motorcycle itself was not registered for road use and the Serbian license plate was illegally fitted. The German is now being reported for serious speeding violations and endangering physical safety.
