On Wednesday, Tyrolean police arrested two truck drivers who were driving without a driver’s license. The driver of a small truck has not had a driver’s license since 2014 and a second man drove a dangerous goods transporter without a license.
The 35-year-old local resident caught the attention of PI Landeck officers during checks in Zams on Wednesday morning. When checking his details, the police soon discovered that the driver of the small truck did not have a driver’s license; this had already been seized from him in 2014. For the 35-year-old, the journey was over. He is reported to the Landeck district administration.

Late in the afternoon, a 36-year-old Bosnian in East Tyrol also received a penalty. There, police officers checked the driver’s tractor-trailer at the checkpoint in Leisach – it was transporting dangerous goods. The 36-year-old stated that he had forgotten his driver’s license at home, but this excuse did not get him far: During the course of the investigation, officials discovered that his driver’s license had been revoked in his home country. The truck driver was banned from driving and the police also collected a bail amount. He will be reported to the BH Lienz.
