A major operation is currently taking place in Scheeßel in the Rotenburg district of Lower Saxony: a Bundeswehr soldier is said to have killed four people. The shots are said to have occurred on Friday evening around 3:30 am.
A large part of the building was cordoned off and police stormed the building with machine guns. Emergency services were stationed throughout the city and a helicopter was also deployed. Several patrol cars could be seen and houses were surrounded.
A suspect was arrested early in the morning. It is said to be a Bundeswehr soldier who would be stationed at Jägerbataillon 91. The barracks are currently being searched for ammunition and explosives.

“Several victims” have been reported, including a child, reports the German “Bild”. The director suspects a family tragedy.
