Almost two months after a serious accident with an e-scooter, a 43-year-old Upper Austrian died in hospital from his injuries. The man collided with a motorist in his hometown of Wels and ended up on the hard asphalt. The doctors now had to give up the fight for life.
On January 7 around 2:45 p.m., a 44-year-old from Wels was driving her car east along Lichtenegger Strasse. At the same time, a 43-year-old from Wels drove an e-scooter in front of the car on the right side of the road. At the intersection with the Green Line in the city of Wels, the 44-year-old driver intended to cross the intersection in a straight direction.

She wanted to overtake the e-scooter’s handlebars for a protective path, but for unknown reasons suddenly collided with the 43-year-old. The 43-year-old fell and suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to Welsh Hospital.
The hospital has now announced that the 43-year-old tragically died from serious head injuries.
