A 26-year-old pedestrian was hit by a truck in Vienna-Simmering on Monday morning and was seriously injured in the collision with another car.
According to police, the pedestrian entered Simmeringer Hauptstrasse directly behind a stationary bus. A truck leaving the city was unable to brake in time. The impact pushed the 26-year-old into another car heading into the city.

“Vienna’s professional rescue service provided emergency medical care to the man and took him to a hospital. The Traffic Accident Command of the Vienna State Traffic Department took over the further investigation into the accident,” said police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger.
