A 31-year-old driver was arrested by police in Upper Austria during a reckless overtaking maneuver. The man was driving at a speed of 157 km/h. Particularly tragic: his seven-year-old daughter was in the backseat without a suitable booster seat. His driver’s license was confiscated and he was allowed to keep his car.
On Tuesday at 4 p.m., a 31-year-old from Saxony drove his vehicle on the B3 coming from Perg towards Arbing. In the municipality of Auhof, the 31-year-old driver overtook another car and a speed of 157 km/h was measured with a “laser gun” by a police patrol carrying out speed checks in this area.
Child was not secured
When the vehicle was subsequently stopped, officers further discovered that he was transporting his minor daughter in the backseat of the vehicle without an appropriate booster seat. After a temporary suspension of the driver’s license due to speeding on the spot, a report was made to the responsible authority. However, the driver was lucky and got to keep his car.
