State of Upper Austria warns – meningitis alarm: sick person was in a discotheque

Anyone who was in the Mühlviertler discotheque “Schlag” in Grünbach (Upper Austria) on March 2 should closely monitor their health. There was a guest present that day who had a meningococcal infection.

After the meningococcal case in the Mühlviertel, the state of Upper Austria is warning all contacts: an unknowingly infected and now sick person visited the discotheque “Schlag” in Grünbach near Freistadt on March 2, the state reports.

Monitor health status
It is highly recommended that anyone who was in the same place at the same time monitor their health.

fever and headache
If you have a fever, headache or sensitivity to light, you should consult a doctor immediately and point out the possibility of a meningococcal infection. It is also possible to take preventive antibiotics within ten days of contact.
