Police operation in front of Buckingham Palace: A motorist crashed his vehicle into a gate of the palace in London on Sunday evening. The man was immediately arrested and taken to hospital with injuries.
There are no reports of other injuries. Nothing is yet known about the background to the incident, which is said to have occurred around 2:30 am (local time). According to the police, this is now the subject of an investigation.

The Mirror newspaper had a shaky video on its website that appears to show the moment of the arrest. It shows a person kneeling in front of Buckingham Palace with his hands behind his neck and surrounded by others. Between the posts of one of the palace gates is a dark small car with its hazard lights on.
The brief report on the Mirror website also stated that an eyewitness became aware of what was happening when he heard a loud noise.
