Early on Saturday evening, a truck driver was injured in a highway parking lot in Dornbirn (Vorarlberg) when a gas cartridge exploded. The man suffered serious burns to his forearms and head.
The truck driver actually only wanted to prepare his food in the driver’s cabin using a camping gas stove. However, nothing came of the meal; instead the gas stove suddenly exploded with a loud bang.

The man suffered several burns from the flames and was taken to Feldkirch State Hospital after initial treatment on site.
The explosion was so strong that the truck’s doors burst open or jammed. The windshield was also damaged and all other windows were broken.
