A private party in the US state of Arkansas ended in tragedy early Sunday morning. In a vacant building near the center of the town of Jonesboro, a man opened fire on partygoers. Police found three dead and several injured.
When officers arrived on the scene shortly before 5 a.m., they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The suspect in the crime knew the male and female victims who were killed, as well as another female victim who was injured, Jonesboro police said on their Facebook account (the post has since been deleted, note).
The suspected shooter, one of the three killed, was in a relationship with one of the female victims, police spokeswoman Sally Smith told CNN. The motive for the crime was initially unclear.
Another woman, who is also said to have known the suspected perpetrator, and four other people were injured and taken to hospitals, the AP news agency reported.
