From April 1, 2024, AUA will again fly daily from Klagenfurt to Vienna and back. The first morning flight is almost sold out. Many people benefit from this connection!
The road from Klagenfurt Airport to the big world is free again. As reported, the AUA returns to Klagenfurt. From April 1, the airline will again fly twice a day from Carinthia to Vienna and back. The first flight departs from Klagenfurt at 5:45 am and lands in the federal capital at 6:35 am. The second flight departs at 3:00 PM. The return flights are at 1:05 PM and 10:25 PM. “From Schwechat you can reach 86 cities with the morning flight,” says airport director Max Wildt. These include “all Western European centres, the US, Canada and Tokyo”.
Turbo aircraft with 72 seats
The AUA uses the Swedish Braathens Turbo aircraft with 72 seats. “60 tickets have already been sold for April 1. “We expect a load factor between 65 and 70 percent this year,” says AUA spokesperson Alexander Schnecke: “We are the third most punctual airline in Europe.”
Kerosene is slightly more sustainable
Klagenfurt is aiming for a total of 200,000 passengers this year. “We want to reach 400,000 by 2028,” says Wildt. Hamburg, London, Mallorca, Alicante and Paros are also served, and occasionally Madeira and Ibiza. A new kerosene to which shortening is added also makes everything a bit more sustainable.
The Koralmbahn is not yet an issue for the AUA: “The flight plan only applies to this year, we are connecting Carinthia with the rest of the world again.”
