After a secondary school in Garsten (Upper Austria) had to be evacuated on Monday following a telephone threat and last week a student with a toy gun caused a large-scale operation on Linke Wienzeile, police also went to two school buildings on Tuesday.
It was an email that caused a lot of excitement at two Viennese schools on Tuesday morning. The message stated that a bomb had been placed at the respective schools in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and in Leopoldstadt, one of which was a primary school. The management of the educational institutions immediately called in the police, who quickly arrived on the scene.
“Take every threat seriously”
Meanwhile, parents and their children stood in front of closed doors, as the threat was probably received before regular school activities started. “Of course we take every threat seriously,” police spokesman Mattias Schuster confirmed the operations. If necessary, the buildings were also searched, but nothing was found.
Were copycats joking?
After a school in Garsten, Upper Austria, was evacuated following a similar threat on Monday, it can certainly be assumed that a copycat perpetrator was involved in an extremely macabre prank.
