Wanted to build a hut – Tyrol: Boys started forest fires when they lit

Date:

Fire alarm late Wednesday afternoon in Pfunds in the Tyrolean Oberland: four boys wanted to build a tree house in a wooded area above the village. To create more space, one of them grabbed a lighter. An idea with (almost) fatal consequences…

The four boys (all 13 years old) came up with a plan to build a hut under rocks. In order to create the necessary space, they wanted to burn out the area where the “construction project” was to be realized. “One of the teenagers then set fire to branches, moss, leaves and the like. The fire soon got out of hand. After a resident of a nearby neighborhood noticed the smoke, he immediately made an emergency call,” the police said.

Florianis has prevented worse
The Pfunds fire brigade, alerted by the Tyrol control center, arrived at the site of the fire after a short time and were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Fortunately no one was injured. A total of 25 Florianis were used.
