In August 2023, two men broke into the house of a single old lady (82) in Tyrol, pushed her and demanded money and jewelry. A third acted as a watchdog; he is even related to the victim. Now there were prison sentences in court.
The second accused step-grandson (25) told his accomplices that there was probably “something to get” from the old lady. He then carried out security duties when his colleagues approached Hall’s Gnadenwald house in August wearing balaclavas. A call was made to ‘check’ the victim’s absence. But she opened it and was pushed. “We didn’t touch them,” the defendants said. This is in stark contrast to the victim’s statement.
Only 300 euros stolen
The loot was small: 300 euros, a mobile phone and an airsoft gun. The resolute 82-year-old had threatened the fleeing robbers with a ‘swipe’.
The judge saw a “particularly reprehensible act”. Rulings that are not legally binding: eight years in prison for the first defendant with a previous conviction, three years each for the accomplice and the step-grandson.
