Serious accident early Sunday afternoon in East Tyrol: A 74-year-old skier fell while getting on a chairlift and suffered a broken leg. The seriously injured person had to be flown to hospital by helicopter.
The painful incident took place around 12.30 pm at the valley station of the “Blauspitz” chairlift in Kals am Großglockner. “The 74-year-old local woman was trying to get into the elevator when she suddenly fell and broke her femur,” police said.
Take an emergency helicopter to the hospital
The pensioner then received initial care on site and was then flown to the Lienz district hospital by emergency medical helicopter. There she was admitted as a hospital inpatient.
