Fire brigade operation Tuesday morning in Styria: a farm in Deutschlandsberg was on fire. Several vehicles were destroyed by flames. The damage is extensive, fortunately no one was injured.
When the fire brigade arrived at the scene of the fire in the Burgegg district shortly after 2 a.m., the open farm building, which was used as a carport and storage space, was already completely on fire. The emergency services immediately carried out a firefighting attack, deploying a total of 7 C pipes on the east and west sides of the building.
“It had an impact after a short time. The fire could not spread,” the fire brigade said.
Burning cars covered with firefighting foam
After the first extinguishing attempts, parts of the building had to be evacuated using heavy breathing equipment. The building, and especially the vehicles parked there, was then covered with fire-fighting foam. “In this way, further flare-ups could be prevented as best as possible.”
The operation ended around 6am. The FF Deutschlandsberg and the FF Hollenegg were deployed with 31 troops. The cause of the fire is still the subject of a police investigation.
