Horrible scenes occurred in the Waldviertel town of Eggenburg on Monday around 2:55 p.m. A girl (8) rode her scooter along the sidewalk towards the primary school. She turned right and wanted to cross the street via the zebra crossing before the roundabout.
With a camper on foot
At the same time, a 76-year-old from the Hollabrunn district drove his camper on Pulkauerstrasse towards the roundabout. The eight-year-old hit the mobile home as it passed the crosswalk and fell. Apparently initially unnoticed by the driver, he continued driving, with the rear tire of the mobile running over the girl’s left foot.
The little girl was injured and taken to hospital after receiving first aid at the scene. The driver of the camper stated that he had not noticed the girl.
