Following the incident involving a US Army truck in the Schmiedingerstrasse underpass in the city of Salzburg, repair work has now been completed. Trolleybus traffic will soon return to normal.
In recent days and nights, work on the overhead line in the underpass in Salzburg-Itzling has been in full swing. Now they are ready. From tomorrow, Thursday, the trolleybuses of line 7 can drive under the highway underpass again as usual.
On March 11, a US Army truck broke off the overhead wires in the Schmiedingerstrasse underpass. Since then, only battery-powered trolleybuses have been used on trolleybus line 7. Before and after the underpass, the poles were removed or ironed down and the short route through the underpass was driven on battery, so that there were no restrictions for passengers.
