Spectacular vehicle fire Thursday afternoon in Kufstein! A taxi suddenly caught fire and rolled into the adjacent forest. Fortunately no one was injured.
The Kufstein city fire brigade was alerted around 4.45 pm after a vehicle on Duxerweg was completely set on fire. The driver of a taxi vehicle was driving down the sloping mountain road when his car caught fire for unknown reasons. The driver was able to save himself and left the danger zone. But because the fire also broke the brakes, the taxi started to roll and fell several meters into the adjacent wooded area.
With heavy respiratory protection, the alarmed Kufstein fire brigade with 35 men and five vehicles was able to extinguish the vehicle fire after a short time. However, the car was probably a total loss. “No one was injured,” officials said.
