The end for the tenants of the popular Alm in Großgmain (Salzburg) has already been confirmed by the courts. Then came the eviction. A terrifying ending.
Police, bailiffs and a lawyer were already waiting when Karl Hinterlechner arrived around 8.45 am. The tenant of the Wolfschwang Alm in Großgmain had an appointment: the judicial eviction of the Alm at the foot of the Untersberg was scheduled for 9:00 am.
The disputes with owner Max Mayr-Melnhof about years of unpaid rent (661.57 euros per month) went to the Supreme Court – reports the “Krone”. More than 40,000 euros was outstanding, without legal and court costs. The court agreed with the owner. The end of the popular excursion destination in Großgmain was sealed.
No chains: transfer was peaceful
Cats and chickens roam the meadow where the couple has lived for 13 years. Hinterlechner and his wife had already packed their things into a container. On the day of the execution, the innkeeper actually wanted to chain himself to the object to prevent the eviction. Hinterlechner didn’t go that far after all.
Eight officials and two bailiffs, together with the lawyer and employees of Mayr-Melnhof, supervised the latest act. Apart from a few insults by those present by the now ex-tenant, the eviction went peacefully. The last key handover to the lawyer was expected to be hesitant.
Chapter Wolfschwang Alm closed
What’s next for the Alm? Owner Max Mayr-Melnhof simply doesn’t know yet. “Sad but true, the Wolfschwang chapter remains closed for the time being,” says Mayr-Melnhof.
