On Sunday evening, residents of Vienna-Liesing alerted police after hearing a loud explosion. A 14-year-old had previously blown up a cigarette machine.
The suspect and two other unknown people used fireworks to blow open the vending machine on Anton-Baumgartner-Strasse to get cigarettes. Shortly afterwards they emptied the machine and fled.
Surveillance images have revealed suspects
However, police were able to recognize the 14-year-old from video from the store’s surveillance camera. He didn’t confess. Then he was reported in general.
The investigation into the other two is still ongoing. The force of the explosion also damaged two shop windows.
