Tragic traffic accident on Monday morning in Köflach, Styria: A 91-year-old, while reversing from the garage, found himself hitting and running over his wife. All help came too late for the 84-year-old.
The tragic incident took place around 10am in Köflach in the Voitsberg district of Styria. The 91-year-old drove his car back out of the driveway of his garage. He may have overlooked his 84-year-old wife, who was standing behind the vehicle, and ran her over. Moreover, he probably did not even notice that the accident had occurred and continued his journey without stopping.
Autopsy ordered
However, passers-by saw the woman lying on the ground and called rescuers. The emergency doctor from the Red Cross Voitsberg and the emergency doctor from the emergency rescue helicopter Christophorus 12 tried to help, but could only confirm that the 84-year-old was dead.
The Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office has ordered an autopsy of the body.
