Serious industrial accident in Paldau (Styria): A 56-year-old was run over on Monday evening during cleaning work by a company car whose handbrake had come off. He remained under the vehicle with serious leg injuries. Only the fire brigade could free him.
A terrible accident occurred in Paldau in southeastern Styria on Monday evening: around 10 p.m. a 56-year-old was cleaning a company car on the company premises when he accidentally released the handbrake. The vehicle rolled backwards – but the man didn’t notice this until it was too late.
The victim screamed for help
He eventually ended up under the car and was turned over on his feet. He could no longer free himself and screamed for help. A woman then rushed over and called emergency services. 18 firefighters from the Paldau volunteer fire brigade joined forces to free the 56-year-old.
To do this they had to lift the car and pull it out. The injured man was taken to LKH Feldbach with serious leg injuries.
