A family experienced dramatic minutes on Tuesday morning in a hotel in Achenkirch in Tyrol. The two-year-old daughter fell into the hotel swimming pool and floated motionless in the water. An attentive guest became a lifesaver.
It is every parent’s nightmare: the child falls into the water in an unnoticed moment. This probably also happened on Tuesday morning in the accommodation complex on Lake Achensee. According to police reports, the child was playing at the pool. The girl probably slipped and fell into the 1.5 meter deep pool.
First aid measures by parents
The child was floating motionless in the water when a guest noticed him a short time later. He reacted immediately, jumped into the pool and pulled the girl out of the water. The child’s parents immediately began first aid measures. The two-year-old regained consciousness and responsiveness a short time later. The child was taken to the clinic in Innsbruck by rescue helicopter.
