A motorist deliberately rammed into an oncoming vehicle in Baden (Lower Austria) on Thursday evening. The mentally retarded man who had been taking drugs then got out and assaulted the two occupants before fleeing on foot.
A patrol was able to stop the 23-year-old near the accident site on the Erzherzog-Wilhelm-Ring. A medical examination revealed that he was disabled from various narcotics, fatigue and medication. The young man’s driver’s license was taken away and he is also being reported for bodily harm or intentional serious bodily harm, Baden city police said.
The two occupants of the rammed car, a 25-year-old and a 21-year-old, were taken to Baden State Hospital with injuries. The 23-year-old who caused the accident, who was also injured, was taken to a psychiatric ward.
