A photographer who achieved dubious notoriety as the ‘Tinder rapist’ was sentenced to 18 years in prison in Paris. The 38-year-old was charged with twelve counts of rape and three counts of sexual abuse. The man is said to have lured mainly young women to his photo studio and reduced them to a defenseless state with alcohol or knockout drugs.
In 2015 and 2016, the Moroccan posed as a fashion photographer on contact platforms and social media in search of models and approached the women according to a fixed pattern. He then allegedly pressured the women to take revealing photos in order to abuse them. According to broadcaster France Info, the court found it particularly worrying that the man had sexually abused such a large number of women.
In this article you can see the profiles with which the photographer allegedly lured his victims:
The prosecutor had demanded 19 years in prison for the man dubbed the ‘Tinder rapist’ by French media. The Public Prosecution Service has ruled that the suspect simply continued his scam after his release in 2019 and abused other women.
Therefore, a second trial awaits him. The defendant denied the allegations and told the court that the young women had accepted his sexual advances. The man, in his late thirties, said he was not a monster.
