At around 11.40 am, the Tyrolean was working with an electric grass trimmer in the garden in front of his house in Itter. To expand the power supply, the man used a metal cable reel. “According to current knowledge, he should have entered the electrical circuit when he touched this drum,” police said.
Grandson wanted to help grandpa
The 28-year-old grandson, who was in the house at the time, became aware of the incident and tried to help his grandfather. But the young man himself ended up in the circuit. “It was only when two neighbors cut the power that the two men were freed,” said the director.
A neighbor immediately began CPR measures for the 75-year-old, which were continued by the “Heli 3” medical emergency team. Unfortunately to no avail, the injured man succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The 28-year-old was taken to hospital in Kufstein with serious injuries.
