On the border with Carinthia, a rock avalanche hits the highway: postponement until Easter

A rock avalanche thundered directly onto the Italian highway 23 (A23) between Carnia and Pontebba in Italy on Monday morning. Several cars were damaged. The crushed stone causes delays in Easter traffic.

On Easter Monday, tons of heavy boulders crashed onto the A23 between Carnia and Pontebba – not far from the Carinthian state border. Three vehicles were damaged by the landslide, Italian media report. The section had to be closed by the fire brigade.

Travel delays
