It was former mayor Hubert Gradenegger who approached his chief of staff, Sonya Feinig, in 2003 and asked her if she wanted to be on the SPÖ list in the next municipal elections. “I said yes, but only in fortieth place. But then I immediately received so many preferential votes that I immediately became deputy mayor,” says the mayor of Rosental in an interview with the “Krone”. And just a year later, with the death of her predecessor, Feinig was elected head of her home community.
