For no apparent reason, the man attacked the girl in a ‘Norma’ supermarket late in the afternoon and stabbed her several times with a knife – until a brave witness intervened and overpowered the 34-year-old.
Girl undergoes emergency surgery
It was also the witness who informed the police. When officers arrived on the scene, the perpetrator was arrested without resistance. Meanwhile, the four-year-old was taken to hospital and immediately underwent emergency surgery. A little later came the reassuring news: the toddler was out of danger.
