Since December last year, two Romanians have been causing mischief in farm shops in Carinthia and Styria. Now the police could arrest them.
The two Romanian nationals, aged 37 and 39, operated as rural shoplifters within a significant radius for months. Because they have not only affected self-service shops in the Völkermarkt and Wolfsberg districts, but also in the Styrian districts of Weiz and Ilz, which are located about 100 kilometers (north) east of Graz.
Arrest after vehicle inspection
“The damage caused by the thefts amounts to several thousand euros. Officials from PI Eberndorf could now investigate the two Romanian citizens,” the police reported. “The provisional arrest took place on Tuesday as part of a vehicle check.” While the 39-year-old was taken to the PAZ in Klagenfurt after completion of the investigation, the 37-year-old was taken to prison – there was an arrest warrant for him from the Graz Regional Court.
“A stay and return ban was immediately issued against both people,” police explained. “You will be reported to the Klagenfurt public prosecutor.”
