Two men in Carinthia were riding their motocross motorcycle along a boggy forest path when one of them lost control of his vehicle – his companion did not notice that he had fallen into the depths.
Around 6 p.m., the two (39 and 37), both from the Feldkirchen district, rode motocross motorcycles along the forest path in the Hochegg/Lassen area in the Himmelberg municipality (Feldkirchen district) at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters above sea level. .
“On a right bend, the 39-year-old lost control of his motorcycle and fell to the left over a steep embankment about 30 meters below,” said a police officer.
But because his companion was driving in front of him, he didn’t even notice his co-driver’s accident at first. The injured cyclist independently dragged himself over the dike back to the forest path, where he met his companion again. He immediately called the rescue team, picked up the victim’s car and transported the injured person to Himmelberg to the rescue vehicle waiting there. The 39-year-old was taken to the UKH Klagenfurt with injuries of an undetermined nature after first aid from the rescue and emergency physician.
Slovenian drove off the road and refused an alcohol test
A few hours later, at 2 a.m., a 27-year-old Slovenian woman was driving on the B111 (Gailtal section road), coming from Hermagor towards Kötschach. A 29-year-old man from the Hermagor district was also in the vehicle with her. Suddenly her car drove off the road to the right.
“She hit a street lighting fixture, after which the vehicle tipped over the embankment and came to a stop on the left side of the vehicle,” an officer said about the accident. Fortunately, the two occupants were able to free themselves from the wreckage of the accident. But after an alcohol test on the driver of the vehicle came back positive, she refused the alcohol test.
You don’t have a driver’s license with you
“The driver’s license could not be taken from her on the spot because she did not have it with her,” the police said. Thirty emergency services from the Hermagor volunteer fire brigade eventually recovered the wreckage with heavy equipment.
