According to data released Friday by the National Statistical Institute (INE), the annual rate for July represents a 0.9 point increase from 9.6% for June.
In the Spanish state as a whole, inflation shot up to 10.8% in July, the same percentage that the INE reached on July 29. It is therefore six tenths higher than the month before and is the highest since September 1984.
