Wild scenes took place in Vienna-Leopoldstadt on Saturday evening. A violent taxi driver (33) first harassed a driver in the middle of the road, then overtook him and eventually forced him to stop and threatened him with a knife.
Shortly after midnight, the suspect stopped several times to encourage the driver to speed up. “When the taxi driver managed to overtake the vehicle in front of him, he allegedly cut off the other driver and forced him to stop,” police spokeswoman Julia Schick said. When he got out, he also pulled out a knife. Then he got back in and ran away.
Taxi driver denies crime
A short time later, the 33-year-old was arrested by the police. A Stanley knife was found in his car. After a preliminary arrest and interrogation, during which the suspect denied everything, he was released.
