Victim was only 15 years old. Student murdered near Paris. Four men in custody

Date:

Following the violent death of a 15-year-old student in a Paris suburb, the public prosecutor’s office has taken four young men into custody on suspicion of murder. It concerns a 20-year-old and three 17-year-olds, French media reported on Sunday evening, citing the Public Prosecution Service. The men are said to have brutally beaten the student on his way home from school in Viry-Châtillon, leaving him unconscious.

He died the next day in a clinic in Paris. Two brothers are among the suspected perpetrators, broadcaster BFMTV reports.

The victim allegedly boasted about contact with girls
According to the investigation, the motive for the brutal act, which seriously shocked France and provoked many reactions from politicians, is related to the brothers’ younger sister. The two allegedly learned that the sister had discussed sexual topics with the later victim, and that the youngster also allegedly bragged about his contacts with the sister, investigators told broadcaster BFMTV.

Fearing for the reputation of their sister and her family, the brothers then ambushed the student along with the other two suspected accomplices. Three of the four arrested are already known to the judiciary for various crimes.

The Public Prosecution Service has opened an investigation against the 15-year-old sister, because she deliberately failed to prevent the crime. There are strong indications that she knew what the brothers were planning and yet did not intervene. The young person was admitted to an educational institution.
