Bumped into a sign – motorcycle ride ended with serious injuries

Two motorcyclists had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries after an accident. A 40-year-old crashed into a traffic sign in Kirchschlag on Monday morning. And in Steinerkirchen, a local man slipped on a right-hand bend and repeatedly lost consciousness.

A 40-year-old from Reichenthal was riding her motorcycle on the B126 towards Linz around 5:50 am on Monday. According to witness statements, the woman came so far to the left during an overtaking maneuver in the Wildberg area, municipality of Kirchschlag near Linz, that she hit the curb. Her motorcycle then skidded and the driver crashed into a road sign. Following motorists immediately provided first aid and started the rescue chain. The 40-year-old was seriously injured and was taken to the accident hospital in Linz after first aid.

First aid provided
A 38-year-old from Steinerkirchen rode his moped from Reuharting towards Steinerkirchen on Sunday around 6:15 p.m. In the Sölling region, municipality of Steinerkirchen, the man fell on his moped in a right bend for reasons that are still unclear. Those who followed immediately called the rescue service and provided first aid. The 38-year-old was seriously injured and repeatedly lost consciousness. After the first treatment, he was flown to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck with the rescue helicopter “Martin 3”.
