It was shortly before six in the morning when the 35-year-old jogger wanted to cross the Pestalozzistrasse in Villach. At the same time, the unknown driver drove from the Westbahnhof towards Ossiacherzeile. “When the jogger was already on the protective path, the unknown driver accelerated his vehicle,” police said.
The traffic light was green
“According to two witnesses, the traffic light for pedestrians was green.” The car, which was described as a dark sports sedan or dark coupe, hit the Villacher.
The driver involved in the accident did not stop
“The jogger was thrown to the ground and suffered minor injuries,” police continued. “The unknown driver continued to drive without stopping after the collision.” While the 35-year-old was taken to LKH Villach, police are now looking for other witnesses who can provide information about the accident and the hit driver.
