A serious incident occurred in the Schaumburg district of Lower Saxony on Wednesday evening: a 20-year-old man was shot in Rinteln and his life is in danger. The perpetrator is on the run.
Residents reported shots fired on Berliner Strasse around 11 p.m., to which the Nienburg/Schaumburg police responded with numerous officers. The crime scene was secured, illuminated and documented while Crime and Investigation and Forensics officers were on duty.

A police helicopter circled above the town of Engern as police searched in vain for the perpetrator. The Bückeburg Public Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation to clarify the background to the crime. One thing is clear: a man has been shot and is fighting for his life in the hospital.
