To connect the photovoltaic system, a 49-year-old electrician climbed a ladder onto a four-meter-high flat roof in Carinthia. When he tried to go back onto the terrace, the ladder started to slide.
“The ladder suddenly slipped on the poly-hardwood floor,” police said. “The man was able to hold on to the edge of the roof for a short time, but then fell back about four meters onto the terrace.” The homeowner was also on the roof at this point, trying to hold on to the ladder and then the man’s hands.
Seriously injured in hospital
Unfortunately, he was unable to prevent the mechanic from falling, who was seriously injured, and immediately called for rescue. “The injured person was taken to UKH Klagenfurt by the rescue team after receiving initial medical care,” police concluded.
