On Saturday evening, a column of smoke was visible from a distance above Egelsdorf-Berg in the municipality of Sinabelkirchen. Around 6 p.m., neighbors alerted the fire brigade because a residential building and outbuildings were on fire. The homeowner was not home.
13 fire brigades with more than 100 emergency services took action and fought the flames. Despite intensive extinguishing work, the fire continued to flare up again, so that the fire brigade had no choice but to let the buildings burn down in a controlled manner.
According to police, no one was injured and the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known.
