On International Labor Day, LAB will reaffirm its commitment to opening the way to “national liberation”. The national call will take place in Pamplona and will include an extensive program (main event, food, concerts), although it will also be mobilized in Iparralde.
The LAB union celebrates May 1 in Pamplona with a demonstration and a ‘national’ celebrationon a day on which it celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding with an extensive program (demonstration, central event, folk food and concerts).
As reported by the union at a press conference on Monday, LAB will reaffirm on May 1 its commitment to “continue to open the way to national liberation and social transformation of the Basque people through the organization and struggle of the workers.”
LAB has pointed out that, like other places in Europe, “Euskal Herria is not safe from individualistic, authoritarian, sexist or racist attitudes caused by neoliberalism.” However, he assures that “our people have the antidote to fight these regressive values: a left-wing independence movement that, as an alternative, becomes stronger, both socially and politically.”
The union has advocated “continuing to organize workers and promote trade union struggle”. Moreover, he is committed to ‘confronting capital in all areas: in the workplace, on the street and also in institutions’. Furthermore, she is committed to “promoting the path of national liberation and social transformation” and believes that “to face the global ecological and economic crisis in the Basque Country, state instruments and a higher level of sovereignty are needed” .
“A new political cycle is opening up, in which LAB will be an active factor. Because the struggle for sovereignty and for living conditions are inseparable,” he added.
Program May 1
To celebrate May Day and the 50th anniversary, LAB is organizing a manifestation which leaves at 11:30 am from Plaza del Castillo, next to a central action at the Anaitasuna Pavilion (12:30 p.m.). Then the party starts and lasts all day: popular food and concerts.
The day will be characteristic guests and guests internationals from Palestine, Vietnam, Sardinia, Corsica, Brittany, Aosta, Andalusia, Catalonia, Galicia, Aragon, Asturias and the Valencian Community.
