A 54-year-old local woman caused a three-car rear-end collision in Kufstein, Tyrol, on Thursday evening. A female passenger had to be taken to hospital. The highway was closed for almost an hour.
The 54-year-old drove north on the B171 in a convoy around 5.45 pm due to heavy traffic. For unknown reasons, she then crashed into the car of a 42-year-old Austrian driving in front of her, who was in turn pushed into the car in front of him. It contained a 43-year-old German and his passenger of the same age.

The 43-year-old in the front vehicle was injured in the accident and the rescue team took her to Kufstein Hospital for examination. There was significant damage to the 54-year-old woman who caused the accident.
While the accident was recorded and the lanes were cleared, the B171 had to remain closed on the northbound carriageway for approximately 50 minutes. A local diversion has been set up.
