Six people from Obertrumer (Salzburg) were taken to hospital by an emergency doctor on Monday evening with acute food poisoning. Now the food inspectorate is investigating the matter, because the dinner was probably to blame. Was it a mixture?
The joint dinner ended on Monday for a family in Obertrum in the hospital. Instead of a peaceful evening meal, she suffers from severe food poisoning. The six Flachgau residents aged between three and 72 suffered from symptoms of poisoning during their meal.
Three ambulances, an emergency doctor and the emergency helicopter quickly arrived on the scene. They took the people to two hospitals in Salzburg – the ‘Krone’ reported.
For a long time it was unclear how the family could become so ill so quickly. Initially a gas leak was suspected, but that was ruled out that evening. A defective stove and fireplace were definitively ruled out the next day. The police also rule out foul play.
Leftover food in the laboratory for research
After consultation with those affected, who are all out of danger, food became the focus. The food inspectorate took action and sent leftover food samples to the AGES laboratory in Vienna.
According to reports, pancakes with green filling were probably served. A dangerous confusion between poisonous lily of the valley and wild garlic could be the reason. However, bacteria such as salmonella are unlikely.
