Serious traffic accident Wednesday evening in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern: a 62-year-old local woman crashed her car into a bus and suffered significant injuries. She had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. in the municipality of Heiterwang. A 56-year-old German was driving a bus from Reutte towards Bichlbach when, according to him, a car suddenly entered the intersection from the right.
“The bus driver was no longer able to brake in time and it came to an end The two vehicles collided,” police said. The driver, a 62-year-old local woman, was seriously injured as a result of the collision.
Driver rescued to hospital
After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the woman was taken by ambulance to the Reutte district hospital. There was extensive damage to both vehicles.
