It was extremely exciting: a 74-year-old pensioner wanted to stop a speeding motorcyclist in Hofkirchen in the Traunkreis in Upper Austria, but was hit and injured by the motorcyclist. The “Krone” asked a lawyer: Are pedestrians even allowed to “stop” speed breakers on their own initiative?
Readers on krone.at responded 1,100 times to our message about the ‘shitstorm’ to which Josef Untermair (74) from Hofkirchen an der Traun was exposed after he offered a motorcyclist a bounty of 3,000 euros.
The motorcyclist had collided with the pensioner when he waved to force him to slow down. The motorcyclist committed a collision, but the posters mainly criticized Untermair’s behavior.
What is allowed?
