A six-year-old autistic boy has been missing in northern Germany since the beginning of this week – the search for the boy is difficult because the boy does not respond to speech and cannot express himself. Emergency services have already used fireworks and balloons to lure the child out of his possible hiding place. Unfortunately, so far without success.
The boy from Bremervörde (Lower Saxony) has been missing since Monday evening. Since then, hundreds of emergency services and volunteers have searched the area around Arian’s residential area. According to the police, the child, who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, does not respond when his name is called: “We have to search very carefully because we have to assume that he will not emerge on his own.” Emergency services use unconventional methods to find Arian.
Balloons and sweets were hung
Fireworks were set off on Thursday because the boy really enjoyed it, a police spokesperson explained. At his parents’ request, balloons and sweets were also hung in a house next to his family’s home. “They did it to the boy,” said the management spokesperson. Trail cameras have also been installed to spot the fry as he approaches the lure.
Skybeamer would attract boys
Garages and garbage bins were also carefully searched. Waste collection was canceled on Friday and the manhole covers had to be opened. Children’s songs were also played in the search area. A sky beamer was also used: it projects a cone of light in the air and the songs are intended to encourage Arian to visit these places.
Footprint found near river
So far, there are few clues as to the whereabouts of the missing child. “Yesterday during the evening we found footprints that could be Arian’s,” a police spokesperson said on Thursday morning. “This gives rise to a possible direction in which Arian could move. The dogs picked up a scent.” The path runs along a river. The boy loves water – so it is quite possible that he followed the water. A pond near the river was searched by divers, but no new clues were found.
Due to the low temperatures and Adrian’s relatively light clothing, the emergency services are particularly alarmed. The boy was wearing a sweater and socks but no jacket or shoes when he disappeared. Drones, a helicopter and a Tornado aircraft were also deployed. The plane took thermal images from the air.
